Non serviam – a performance in two acts

Non serviam – I Do Not Serve, a performance in two acts before the premiere of the movie Call Girl (2012). The performance utilized mime and acting students from the Stockhom University of the Arts. Based on Gunnar Ekelöf’s poem Non serviam and Ernst Nordin’s sculpture by the same name on Malmskillnadsgatan, the performance highlighted Article 34 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The performance took place outside the Skandia cinema in Stockholm. A flyer was distributed to passersby, who had to answer the question in the flyers. Everything was filmed by Phoenix Fataneh Nik-Khakian. Below is the content of the flyers that were distributed.

According to Article 34 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, children are entitled to protection against all forms of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse, prostitution and pornography. There are just too few resources being invested in this. Sweden has only two police officers specially assigned to work on the sexual trafficking of children.

What can you do to protect children from all forms of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse, prostitution and pornography?

According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 34, children have the right to protection from all forms of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. Children should be protected from such exploitation in prostitution and pornography. There is a lack of resources in order to face this issue. In Sweden there are only two police officers dealing with the prevention of exploitation and purchase of sexual acts with children.
